We have finally finished this job in Cudal NSW for Paul and Julie , and wow, they are absolutely thrilled with the final result. From the very beginning, this project presented some unique challenges, but seeing the finished gazebo in place has made all the effort worthwhile. Some galvanised steel beams needed to be custom made locally, and the team at MA STEEL in Young NSW did a fantastic job delivering exactly what was required.
This is a 7-metre, 8-sided gazebo built over an existing water tank, creating a truly unique feature on the property. Like all of our gazebos, it was fully engineered, but because the tank was quite old, additional structural considerations were necessary. The steel beams were designed to span across the tank so that no weight was transferred onto the water tank lid, ensuring the integrity of the structure while providing a solid foundation for the gazebo.
To further protect the tank, we drilled the footings all the way to the bottom of the water tank area, approximately 2.7 metres deep, so that no load was forced onto the tank itself. This engineering solution allowed us to create a strong and durable structure without compromising the existing infrastructure. The galvanised steel components will also provide excellent long-term durability and resistance to the elements, helping to ensure the gazebo remains a standout feature for many years to come.
Paul and Julie are also undertaking major renovations and landscaping works across the property, and it is going to look incredible once everything is completed. We cannot wait to return and see the finished transformation, as the gazebo will be just one part of what promises to be an amazing outdoor space.
The gazebo is set on more than 200 hectares of land, surrounded by beautiful rural scenery, and I could not help but describe it as a true oasis. It is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the views, and make the most of the property.
